Specialty: Family Medicine At an early age, I marveled at how the personal connection, compassion and knowledge of my family doctor made me feel better. Fascinated by how the body and mind work, I was driven to learn more about the wonders of healing. What came to make sense to me was that I wanted to become a partner in taking care of the total person, always respecting one’s uniqueness in the context of family and community. Since 1976, I have enjoyed and been humbled by my experiences providing all aspects of family medical care, watching families grow and learn through times of good health and illness. It is particularly rewarding to have delivered over five hundred babies and to have cared for five generations of some families. I am proud of my long-standing roles as the school physician for the Cape Elizabeth School Department and as a preceptor in the Maine Medical Center Family Medicine Program. My interests include preventive medicine, family dynamics, and mind body relationship, complementary medicine and teaching patients and physicians. I also enjoy following the exploits of my four children and four grandchildren; as well as cycling, puzzling, and playing the harmonica. I have lived in Cape Elizabeth since 1973 with my wife Susie, a speech therapist in the local schools.
