As often happens, it was after a visit to Maine that Dr. Freedman and her husband Peter, who were both struck by the natural beauty of the coast, decided that this was where they wanted to settle and raise a family. Originally from Connecticut, Dr. Freedman spent six years in the computer industry after leaving college before deciding to alter her career path and redirect her focus on the field of medicine. Dr. Freedman sees herself as an advisor and advocate and is dedicated to helping parents optimize and maintain their health, while at the same time respecting their individual choices. Her practice involves the full spectrum of family care, with special emphasis on women’s health, pediatrics, and dermatology. She is the director of Bowdoin Medical Group's Laser Center, and offers procedures to treat a variety of skin conditions including the reversal of skin damage due to sun exposure and aging as well as the reduction of unwanted hair and leg veins. Dr. Freedman resides in South Portland with her husband and twin daughters, Ellen and Julia.
