Specialty: Family Medicine
Dr. Shepherd graduated Magna Cum Laude from Tuft University in 1996, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music. She attended Jefferson Medical School in Philadelphia where she received her medical degree in 2001 and completed her Family Practice Residency at Maine Medical Center in 2004. She is very excited about practicing in the greater Portland area and making Portland her home. Dr. Shepherd grew up on the outskirts of Philadelphia and spent her summers on Chebeague Island here in Maine. She loves boating, cross-country skiing, reading and playing the trumpet. She currently plays with the Casco Bay Concert Band, the Edith Jones Project (an all women’s big band) and the MidCoast Symphony. Dr. Shepherd’s practice includes pediatrics, adolescent and adult medicine. She enjoys working and caring for the complete family by creating a partnership with each patient to improve the health of the patient, family and community.
